A LONG-SERVING county councillor from Newent has been picked to represent the Conservative Party in next year’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Elections.

Will Windsor-Clive has been county councillor for Newent since 2001, previously also serving as Conservative group leader on Forest of Dean District Council. As Gloucestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Fire, he has been responsible for running Gloucestershire’s Fire and Rescue service for the last eight years.

Will said: “It’s a great honour to have been selected. I know my background in running Gloucestershire’s Fire Service for eight years would be a massive asset as Police and Crime Commissioner. I’ve lived in this county all my life and brought up my family here.

“I care passionately about Gloucestershire and that’s why I want to make a difference for our county. My first priority is to talk to Gloucestershire people from across the county, to find out what their priorities are for policing and how they’d like to see things changed for the better.”
