A MOTORCYCLIST who collided with a tree in Lydbrook has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
The crash site near the Mireystock crossroads was closed by police following the accident at 11.10am today.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, appeared to have lost control of his bike, causing him to career into the tree. He was taken by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
Motorists were being advised to avoid the area by police while they investigate the crash scene.
