POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a car crash which left a woman in her 60s with serious injuries on Saturday (July 1).

The woman was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol after the collision involving two cars on the A4136 in Longhope.

She was driving a blue Vauxhall Astra along Blaisdon Lane when it collided with a blue Ford Focus at the junction with the A4136 around 6.20pm,

The Focus, driven by a man in his 20s, was travelling along the A4136 towards the A40 when it struck the other car and overturned.

The Astra driver’s condition is said to be critical but stable.

Her female passenger suffered slight injuries and was also taken to hospital but was not detained.

The Focus driver and his male passenger were both taken to Gloucester Royal Hospital for treatment. 

Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision or either of the vehicles before it occurred.
