ANYWAY, it's a well known fact that there are many people who think the wild boar should stay, and there are those who think they must go. It's the latter I suppose I am addressing.?It looks as though we are stuck with the so-called wild boar so it is time to start thinking positively and concentrating on the benefits. Proper Foresters will know what I?mean.
Let's start with the roadside verges. There is hardly a turf left unturned therefore there will be no need for grass cutting. This should save the council an enormous amount of money. Then we have the picnic areas. Now who in their right mind is going to take children into the middle of a ploughed field for a meal? This will mean less visitors to the Forest of Dean thus less wear to the roads and less cost to the council. Then we have the kitchen waste collection. We can put this out for the pigs.
Are you getting the idea?
Now come on you butcher boys, you should be making a "killing," pardon the pun. I've lost count of the number of people who have said they "would love a side of wild boar to go in their freezer."
I'm sure the Review readers can come up with more reasons why the council should be saving a shed load of money. All we need to do now is to convince them to pass the savings on.
