WHY no cycle path from Lydney to Parkend? I can't call myself a keen cyclist and I am certainly not a good one but I try to keep fit and do my bit to lower my carbon footprint.

During the summer I sometimes cycle to and from work, However I can't do this without using the main roads which for a wobbler like me is scary and any driver that needs to drive past.

I have noticed that cycling in the Forest seems to be very popular and I would have thought a track from Parkend to Lydney for families staying at Whitemead would be ideal. Lydney really does have some good facilities with an excellent park, open air and indoor swimming pool, the docks, a lake and a large rec. Perhaps it would attract more business to our small shops and cafes?

I know other people would like to see one so I am just asking the question: why is there not a cycle path from Lydney to Parkend?
