A SAUCY new snow craze is sweeping the Forest as young and old bare all to bring some cheeky cheer during this icy blast.

The Let's get naked in the UK Facebook club has proved such a huge hit with Foresters that they make up more than 90 per cent of members. And they've shown no reluctance to risk frostbite to a variety of essentials by coming up with ever more imaginative poses.

The idea was first dreamt up by former Laker's School student, Simon Newman, who spent the last year or two exiled in far away Cheltenham.

"A friend of mine posted his photo wearing nothing but flip flops and some tinsel. I was a bit jealous really because I didn't have any snow here. But when it came I put my photo up and said 'why not start up a group?'

"And (excuse us) it's simply snowballed from there. The club was only set up on January 5 and already has more than 400 images and nearly 3,000 members.

"Everybody's got into the craze really quickly," says Simon. "One of my friends was looking out of his bedroom windows and saw one of his neighbours taking a photo. And I've been really impressed with the photo's coming through, some are really original. It's good fun, but yes, it is cold – the worst thing is your feet, but the excitement and adrenalin keep you going."

Millie Taylor, who works at the Tufthorn Pub in Milkwall, had her photo snapped by her sister in the garden.

"It was freezing, but a lot of the regulars did it when they were a bit tipsy, so didn't really feel the cold. Everyone's moaning about the weather, but while most of us are snowed in why not have some fun?"

Let's get naked is now so popular, ex Laker's students, Chris Finnegan and Lee Field are now helping Simon run the site.

"It's spread far quicker than we thought and it's too much work for one person now," says Chris, from Coalway.

"Getting the photo is quite exciting. My house is a nightmare though, I had to dash out and back in before all the security lights go on."
