THE tenth annual Dean Dawdle has raised much-needed funds for the James Hopkins Trust and other local charities.
More than 500 people set out on Sunday July 4 to either trek or bike 12 miles or walk for three miles if they didn't have so much puff.
The routes took them all back to the Beechenhurst picnic site where refreshments were laid on for participants and their supporters.
The James Hopkins Trust provides respite care in the family home or respite centres for severely disabled children and their families.
And although the charity was the focus of the dawdle, the organisers were happy for other charities to use the event to help their own funds, which meant in most cases that sponsorship money was split with the trust.
The trustees said they were extremely pleased with the event.
