FOREST poet Dave Harvey is to give a free recital of some of his work accompanied by the Forest of Dean Male Voice Choir for a BBC TV programme about the Forest.
It all takes place at the Old School Room in Bream on Friday October 21 (6.30pm for 7.30pm) and the audience gets in without charge.
"They asked me some time ago if I could read them some of my work for filming and I said I would so long as the Forest choir was involved too, and they agreed," he said.
"I put them in touch with musical director Tracey Gwynne and it all went on from there. I'll be reading a dozen of so poems and a few stories and the choir will be doing pieces in between."
The concert comes a few days after the publication date of an illustrated book about the Forest by Dave, published by the Whitehouse Press and titled Where We Belong.
News of when the TV programme will go out will be released soon.
