Since Two Rivers took control of the council houses and the infrastructure that accompanied the take over, they have failed miserably to ensure that the grassed areas that they are responsible for are cut regularly.
The Parish Council spend considerable funds each year ensuring that the grassed areas that it is responsible for are cut regularly, therefore maintaining the villages to make them look tidy.
There are areas of grass that Two Rivers are responsible for that have not been cut for ages; in places the grass is some two to three feet high and it looks awful. There are some other areas that they do cut where borders around those areas are getting increasingly larger, so much so that it is beginning to look like farmers "set aside".With the hot weather that we have been experiencing it wouldn't surprise me if those areas harboured adders of other wildlife – especially those around the Danes Hill site in Sedbury, where a lot of young children play!
Residents are rightly
annoyed and have approached parish councillors with their concerns regarding "what is the council doing about it?"
As the Parish Council does not have a responsibility for the Two Rivers areas, it would be irresponsible for the council to spend its meagre resources cutting the grass.
It is about time the Two Rivers board made a visit to the Parish to witness for themselves the results of their severe lack of management skills and non-interest in carrying out their duties towards the residents. – John Powell, Tidenham.
