SOMETHING I witnessed while in a funeral procession with my husband on October 3 was very disrespectful for all concerned.

There was an elderly lady in a silver car that overtook the funeral procession in Bream High Street while the hearse was being walked with respect through the village.

At her first attempt to get through she pulled over, possibly having second thoughts about what she was about to do.

This didn’t deter her – it only inspired her to move swiftly through, cutting up the hearse and the undertaker with cars that were parked by the Spar shop.

I sincerely hope that this woman will show the respect the family deserves and apologise for her actions.

I would like to say thank you to all the respectful people on the side of the road and at the junctions on the remaining journey to Cinderford.
