A FOREST recycling group have collected three full sacks of recyclable foil – but say they want more.

The group based at Taurus Crafts collects, sorts and bales aluminium foil from Forest council-owned recycling banks before selling it to help fund their community work.

Last Friday they showed off the fruits of their labour to Alupro, a recycling organisation, who provides their sacks and uniforms. The group are encouraging more people to recycle their foil over Christmas.

Julie Meeks, of Alupro, said: "We supply the group with sacks and uniforms and they collect recycled foil in the area, before it is then sold and the proceeds go back into the project.

"Christmas is a time for giving and it has never been easier to give to your community and help the environment. So when you are eating your mince pies, tucking into chocolate or having a drink, just remember to recycle the aluminium foil packaging by recycling it in foil banks in and around the Forest of Dean serviced by Taurus Crafts and the Forest of Dean Council."
