LIKE to meet a llama? Here's a big opportunity to get closer to some of the fascinating creatures that will soon be undertaking the latest forest attraction – llama trekking.

Organiser Alastair Fraser of Sedbury is calling for volunteers to come along and help look after the friendly South American animals which will be based in the paddock at Speech House.

During the summer they will become 'pack animals' for a unique Forest walks programme being launched by Mr Fraser.

"I would like to form a group of volunteers who would be happy to help me look after the animals," he said.

In return they would have the reward of getting to know some real 'characters'.

At present he has nine llamas which are being kept near Chepstow but five are soon to move into the Forest.

"Anyone who thinks they can help feed, groom and look after the animals would be very useful," said Mr Fraser, who can be contacted on 01291 621593.
