THE pupils, staff and parents of Clearwell Church of England Primary School are overjoyed after passing not one but two inspections with flying colours.
An inspector reporting for the Diocese of Gloucester was full of praise for both staff and pupils, said head teacher Jean Smith.
"Children's behaviour was very good. They were polite, helpful and friendly. The Christian ethos demonstrated by the school is very good," his report states, adding that he found no key issues for action.
An Ofsted report is equally complimentary to the staff and school community in general.
It saw the school as a welcoming place where there is a clear expectation of what is required from the pupils in terms of behaviour, commitment and work, and where parents feel comfortable about approaching staff with any questions or concerns.
"There is good provision for enriching and extending pupils' experience and creating an enthusiasm for learning, particularly through trips and visits."
The inspectors add: "Evidence from the lessons seen during the inspection, and from pupils' work, shows the overall quality of teaching and learning to be satisfactory, with some good features."
Standards that needed to be improved, it noted, were already being addressed.
Mrs Smith said everyone is "very pleased" with both reports.
