THERE will be a talk about Civil War book 'No Surrender' at Yorkley Village Hall by Forest publisher Doug McLean on Thursday, June 23 (7.30pm).

In the 1880s traveller, adventurer and novelist, Captain Mayne Reid, came to live in the Forest and wrote the historical adventure set in the Dean.

The heroes were the Foresters and the Parliamentarians. Doug has just produced a new edition.
