CHILDREN at English Bicknor Primary School had a whole day of fund-raising fun.

It started with pupils coming to school in pyjamas for Children in Need followed by some children staying overnight for a sponsored sleepover which raised more than £200.

The sleepover was the first of many events planned by the new school council who want to raise money to develop an area in the school they can design and use for many activities.

New Chair of Friends of English Bicknor School, Tristan Holden said: "The event was a great success and the children made a good start to the fundraising. So well done and thank you to all parents and teachers for their help on the night."

•The school will be holding its auction of promises event on Saturday (November 23). The longstanding fundraising event is supported by parents and local business to raise money for improvements to the school's outdoor learning area. It will be at the village hall at 7pm with the main auction starting at 7.30pm and a special children's auction in the interval.
