A CHEPSTOW man has been arrested following a crash in which a motorcyclist died.

Gwent Police are seeking witnesses to a road traffic collision, which happened last Saturday morning (June 21).

The incident happened on the A449, at around 11.15am, and involved a black convertible BMW Z4 car and a Kawasaki sports motorcycle.

The driver of the BMW, a 32 year old man from Chepstow, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, and has since been named as Kevin Morgan, aged 60, from Cwmbran.

Officers say that they are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen these vehicles in the areas of the Southern Distributor Road, Coldra roundabout/junction 24 of the M4, on the A449 itself, in the lead up to the collision.

Anyone who may have seen these vehicles around 11am last Saturday is asked to call 101, quoting incident log 202 of 21/06/14.
