MEMBERS of Drybrook's Holy Trinity Church who run a shop in the nearby village have come up trumps with the purchase of a new piece of equipment for their local surgery.

A gift of £1,000 has enabled the surgery to buy a spirometer – a special piece of equipment which helps to detect and treat heart disease.

The church shop – known simply as The Shop – is at The Cross, Drybrook. It is run by members through the Love Drybrook Trust, a church-based trust whose aim is to share the Christian message locally.

Since The Shop opened in November 2009 donations of almost £5,000 have been made to local projects in the village.
