Five Acres High School celebrates strong GCSE results

IT’S another year of strong GCSE results for Five Acres High School, leading to celebrations from students and teachers.

It once again achieved above-average results, with over 70 per cent of grades being awarded at grade 4 or above and around two-thirds of students achieving five grade 4s or above, enabling them to access routes into Level 3 qualifications.

Whilst all subjects secured grades 7 and above (equivalent to A/A*), there were some stunning results in Languages, Hospitality and Catering, and Humanities, with History securing the highest number of grade 9s.

The core subjects of English, Maths and Science continue to be very strong performers, and subjects such as Art and Performance continue to show year-on-year success.

A spokesperson for Five Acres High School said: “The results reflect the hard work, determination and resilience of students throughout their time at Five Acres, supported by dedicated staff and families.

“The school is particularly proud of the many individual success stories within this year's cohort, from students achieving some of the highest grades across their GCSE and BTEC subjects to those who have overcome significant personal challenges alongside their studies.”

Students such as Amelia, Lillie, Chloe, Callum, Aiden, Frankie and Jared are among a number of students who will move into Post-16 with a string of grade 8’s and 9’s to their name.

Amelia will be going on to study Physics, Maths and History at Dene Magna 6th Form. Jared has secured a highly coveted Sports Scholarship at Taunton School.

Tio, the first student to complete our Character Education programme and also a Head student, will be going on to study Maths, Geography, Economics and French at Dene Magna 6th Form.

Ellie, Head Student, also achieved a range of the very best grades and will go on to study English, History, Law and Sociology at Hereford 6th Form College.

Beth will be studying Musical Theatre and Dance at Bristol Performing Arts College and Bea will be studying Business, PE and Psychology at SGS College Filton.
