POLICE are hunting for the driver of a van in connection with a hit and run in Cinderford.

A 90-year-old man was knocked over in Dockham Road at around 3pm yesterday by a reversing white transit van.

The van then left the scene without checking on the welfare of the victim.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: "The victim sustained a head injury which required treatment at the scene. The injury is not deemed to be life threatening or changing. Ambulance attended and treated the pedestrian at the scene before taking him to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment."
