THE emergency services descended on Caldicot Castle and Country Park in force on Sunday for an event highlighting their work.

Gwent Police, South Wales Fire and Rescue and the Welsh Ambulance Service all took part in the 999 Emergency Services Day organised by Caldicot Town Team.

They gave visitors the chance to look over their vehicles and talk to police and fire officers as well as paramedics about the life-saving work they do.

Wales Air Ambulance and Chepstow Coastguard Rescue Team and the Blood Bike service took part and an American Dodge Charger gave visitors an insight into policing on the other side of the Atlantic.
