TEMPORARY traffic lights will be installed this afternoon on the A48 for emergency work to be carried out.

The works, which will take up to a week, involve digging a trench across the road between Blakeney and Newnham-on-Severn which means one lane will be closed to traffic.

During peak hours in the morning and evenings, the lights will be under manual control by highways crews on the scene.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
