IT'S about to start up all over again, the annual bash between English wassailers and a Welsh Mari Lywd band on the old bridge at Chepstow.
This year's traditional New Year encounter on Saturday (January 24) is sponsored by Two Rivers Housing, who are promising "a true spectacle".
The meeting of the English and Welsh dancers in the middle of the old iron bridge (which Two Rivers will close for the afternoon and evening) will include noise, colour and music with hundreds of people.
Apart from an evening Ceilidh the whole event from 2pm is absolutely free and is a tremendous spectacle for young and old alike.
It starts with dance performances from six English and Welsh Morris sides at Chepstow Riverbank and Lower Chepstow pubs.
There will also be a ceremonial planting of cider apple trees in Chepstow Riverside Gardens near the bandstand.
From 3pm-4pm there will be more dancing plus a repeat of last year's exceptional dance performance by the pupils of Ysgol y Finn, Sudbrook at the Bridge Inn car park.
From 4pm there is a folk music performance from Catrin O'Neill at the same venue before the main event at 6.30pm.
At 7pm, the Mari Lwyd (horse's head) ceremony takes place at the Bridge Inn moving to Chepstow Museum at 7.30pm.
Real ale will be available all day from the local pubs.
