I AM writing to express my disbelief at the possibility that Gwent football would exclude boys and girls living on the English side of Chepstow from competing in Gwent league football. My son plays for Garden City and has done for the past three years. He is 10 years-old and loves football, and loves playing with Garden City.
We live in Tutshill but he attends the Dell Primary in Chepstow, so the team is made up of many of his school friends. There is no alternative football team within a sensible distance for my son to play for on the English side. So if the Gwent league decide to ban him from playing for Garden City, they are also stopping him from playing football altogether.
I'm shocked they would consider doing this, especially as the same rules don't apply for adults playing in the Gwent leagues.
I hope that the Review, and its readers, will support a petition to allow all children in the Chepstow area to continue to play football for Garden City, and the other local teams based in Chepstow. –
Judith Conlon, Tutshill.
