PROMISING young goalkeeper, Matthias Bidmead, from Thornwell Football Club has been accepted for regular training by Cardiff City Football Club.
Matthias, aged just six, attends Thornwell School, and currently plays for Thornwell Football Club's Under 8s team as their regular goalkeeper and stopper.
His father, Steve Bidmead, coach for the under 8s team, says: "He is amazing. He seems to be completely fearless. Even when injured he still carries on playing. We are very proud of him."
Adrian Hill, coach for Thornwell under 9s, added: "We could all see his ability from a very young age. We knew we had a star in the making."
Also from Thornwell Football Club, Matthew Murdin, aged 10, was selected as a players' escort to lead out the team for the Wales against Norway friendly match at Cardiff City Stadium earlier this month.
