SPORTS clubs and health providers are being urged to get on board with a new fitness campaign in conjunction with the Lydney Festival.

A group has already been formed in a bid to encourage more people in the Forest to lead healthy lives.

Clubs and health, wellbeing and fitness services met at Lydney Tennis Club last Thursday, April 20, to plan a health, wellbeing and fitness week from June 3 to 10.

The initiative is being coordinated by Alan Horne, director of Club Ginger Health and Fitness, and is supported by the Forest of Dean Council and Lydney Festival.

The group will launch the week with a series of demonstrations on June 3 at the festival site provided by the Coop, and each provider will run

a programme of free taster sessions at their own locations during the week.

Club Ginger have already planned a spinning bike challenge as part of the event.

The new group are preparing promotional material, and if any sports club or health provider is interested in taking part they can contact Alan Horne at [email protected] or on 07831 502423.
