FRIENDS of Lydney and District Hospital raised £957 on Saturday, with a raffle and sale outside Co-op in Lydney.

Chair of the Friends, Anthony Midgley said: “We would like to acknowledge the generosity of all those who supported us.

Besides a raffle for many prizes, including a large festive hamper, which was won by Mrs Hawkins of Pillowell, there were stalls selling books, toys, bric-a-brac and knitted items kindly donated by supporters.

 

“In addition we had this year’s Christmas cards on sale, which feature six designs of Forest scenes taken by local photographers. The cards are available at Althorpe House, Lydney and outlets throughout the town and surrounding area.We are delighted that the total amount raised was nearly £1,000. Many thanks to everyone.”
