D8059 might not have the same ring as 007 but a Bond star is making tracks in the Forest of Dean this weekend.
The Dean Forest Railway has welcomed former British Rail Class 20 locomotive D8059 for its three-day Diesel Gala weekend which started today (Friday).
The loco was used as a Russian armoured train in the 1995 James Bond film Goldeneye.
The ’chopper’, as the locos were known by enthusiasts because of their distinctive sound, is joined by D8568, the only surviving example of the 117 Class 17 locomotives originally built.
