A KITCHEN was damaged by fire after a dishwasher burst into flames.
Fire crews from Ross-on-Wye Fire Station were called to the blaze at a house in the town’s Walford Road around midday on Sunday (December 9).
They managed to contain the fire and confine it to the kitchen, which suffered extensive cosmetic damage.
Working smoke alarms were fitted in the property and paramedics checked residents for smoke inhalation at the scene, although no serious casualties were reported.
Firefighters also used tactical ventilation to clear the house of smoke.
Neighbour Paul Meredith praised the response of emergency services on the station’s Facebook page, saying: “?Can I just say what an amazing job you did to control and confine that fire to a small area. Thanks guys. Very professional.? ?Ross-on-Wye should be very proud of you, because I am.?”
