YOUNGSTERS from the Boogie Nights dance academy in Lydney held a flash-mob event at the clock tower in Coleford on Saturday to support the Children in Need appeal.

They were among thousands of individuals, schools and organisations throughout the Dean and Wye Valley who held their own events to help the fund.

"The students have spent months working on the flash mob. Extra rehearsals were held at local leisure centres to accommodate the size of the group," said a Boogie Nights spokesman.

"This was a very challenging performance to achieve as we had such a varied age range from five years right up to 24 and even a few parents snuck in the back!

"The event was created by Principal Sian Imm and I am so pleased with what we achieved! Everyone had an amazing day and raised £236.20 and donations are still coming in.

"As a school we contribute to community events throughout the year with no charge and no obligations, it really would be nice to see the boys and girls recognised for this so they know the work they do is appreciated and doesn't go unnoticed."
