AN OFF-ROAD motorcycle event was delayed by the weather on Sunday morning (February 24) despite unseasonably warm temperatures later in the day across the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

Severn Valley Motocross Club members gathered to wait for the fog to lift at English Bicknor before they were able to start their engines and begin their event.

“The organisers, stewards, riders and supporters waited anxiously for the fog to clear in the ‘bowl’,” said Rick Seager, from Ruardean, who attended the event with his son Rudy, whom he says has special needs.

“When it did, we were not disappointed though. The racing was spectacular from all age groups, as were the far reaching views.

“As onlookers at the event we really had a fabulous day and we cannot wait till this Sunday (March 3) for the next Severn Valley Motocross meet.”

Results from the event will be published on www.dirthub.co.uk/motocrossevents
