DIDN'T you do well!

Jenny Roberts's appeal for Review readers to get baking and make 50 cakes to be sold in the tea room at Saturday's Gloucestershire Brass Band Association's Brass Band Day at Highnam surpassed all expectations.

"There was a brilliant response and I just can't thank people enough. We didn't just get 50 but a mouth-watering and magnificent 500! They came in all shapes and sizes. People were wonderful and their generosity really made the day," said Jenny.

As a result of the cake-baking, the tea room enjoyed phenomenal sales and made a profit of over £1,200 to be shared between Great Oaks Dean Forest Hospice and the Pied Piper Appeal.

Jenny added: "I really can't express just how wonderful the people of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley have been. It was a super effort and we are all very grateful."
