DO you remember your first travels abroad? Did any of these trips take place between 1919 and 1939, during your school days?
It was in these inter-war years that mass travel really started taking off and for isolated rural places like some of the Forest villages, it was often the first time many children would have left home and experienced foreign shores.
If you are willing to share and speak about your memories give me a call. My name is Sarah Winfield and I'm a researcher from the University of Cambridge. I'm currently undertaking a project documenting the history of educational travel and would love to hear about your experiences. You can reach me by phone on 01223 413811 or email at
Your contribution would be greatly appreciated.
