A FOREST author is to be interviewed about her first book on a radio programme to be broadcast across the United States.

Marian Ivens of Broadwell, who has just published Pipsy and Friends for young children, says she is “incredibly nervous” about appearing on America Tonight.

The show has an audience of around 26 million people and Marian will appear on its Book Trail segment with Emmy-winning journalist Kate Delaney.

Marian’s book was recommended to the show by her publishers American-based publishers Authorhouse who gave it a five-star rating.

She said: “I got a phone call out of the blue saying we’ve shortlisted your book and we want you to appear on America Tonight.

“I’m going to have a practice run on Zoom and then do it. I’m incredibly nervous but its very exciting.’’

The book is about an apple that is lonely and feels abandoned and is encouraged to move forward with the help of his friends.

It is illustrated by Andrew Dale who Marian met when they were students at an adult education centre in Gloucester.

Her book is available from Byefield Emporium in Coleford, Leaf in Huntley and Amazon.
