A FILM which features key scenes filmed in Puzzlewood hit the cinemas on Monday (April 4).

Scenes from The Huntsman: Winter’s War, which were filmed at the Coleford-based tourist attraction last summer, joins a host of other famous, successful films to be filmed there including Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The Huntsman features international stars Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron and Emily Blunt.

A Film and TV Trail, celebrating the many productions that have been inspired by the natural and historical settings of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, was launched in December.

It was created by Wye Valley and Forest of

Dean Tourism and the site marked the start of major push to attract screen tourists and

boost visitor revenue by £35million a year after three years.

Mark Terry-Lush, director of Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism, said: “It has been thrilling to see Puzzlewood in the trailers for The Huntsman, and we are sure that visitors will be equally excited to discover the location for themselves - just as fans of Star Wars have flocked to the destination since Christmas.

“We’re incredibly proud of the cinematic credentials of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, as showcased in the Film and TV Trail, and look forward to seeing the boost to the local tourism economy The Huntsman will bring.”
