CINDERFORD rally driver Will Rogers' first foray into the FIA World Championship saw him come away with a class win after four tough days.
Rogers teamed up with Hull-based Becky Kirvan for Wales Rally GB in the RP Joinery/Future Furniture Group backed Fiesta ST.
She too was making her WRC debut.
The event again played host to the final round of the World Rally Championship, but with a brand new four-day format that covered most of Wales – 23 tests covering 355 kilometres in a total route of 1,860 on some of the world rallying's best gravel roads.
Fog and gloom plagued them on many of the stages. The final day was a short dash of 84 kms after a 4.55am start.
Two excursions on the morning's opening tests caused concern but very little time loss. Things soon settled down and they were well pleased to finish 41st overall and1st in class.
"Its been a great experience. I am really pleased to have finished and winning our class is the icing on the cake," said Rogers.
"A big thank-you to my sponsors, also Becky and the team."
