A 41-year-old woman from Lydbrook has been named as the driver killed in a crash on the M4 near Swindon on Sunday (August 27).
Anoushka Paterson died at the scene following the collision between junctions 16 and 17.
Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward — particularly anyone with dash cam footage of a black Audi A3 being driven on the eastbound carriageway prior to the incident.
Police said the A3 went the wrong way and collided with several cars before crashing head-on into an Audi A4.
The driver of the A4, a man, aged 35 from Bristol, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious leg and pelvic injuries which were not thought to be life threatening.
The motorway was closed for seven hours following the collision which happened at 10.40pm.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with her family, who have requested privacy at this difficult.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
