TWO vehicles smashed into the former offices of The Forester newspaper after a high-street collision.
Police were called to Cinderford High Street at 6.20am today following a collision between the VW Polo and BMW X6 near The Jolly Forest Fryer and the Woodgate Road junction, which led to the shutters of the offices being damaged.
A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said: "Shortly before 6.20am, we received a report of a collision in High Street, Cinderford.
"The collision involved a blue VW Polo and a silver BMW X6, both of which collided with a boarded up premises on the corner of Marshall's Lane.
"The road was closed to facilitate recovery of the vehicles.
"Fire and ambulance services also attended but there were no serious injuries.”
Debris WAS left strewn across the road.
Gail Smith, the owner of the nearby Exquisite Nails & Beauty, said: “When I came in to work this morning the emergency services were cleaning up following an accident where two cars finished up by my shop front door.
“Thankfully, there was not too much damage and I was able to open this morning.
“Had I been unlocking my door at the time, I could have been killed. I am lucky to be alive as I often come in very early. So much for the 20mph speed limit.”
The road was opened later this morning.
