CALDICOT Castle will again host a ’fanzone’ for Wales’s Euro 2016 game against Russia on Monday (June 20) – and Chepstow could also get in on the act.

Now it has been suggested that another fanzone is set up in Chepstow should Wales qualify for the knock-out stages of the tournament in France.

Chepstow Town Council will hold a special meeting on Tuesday (June 21) to decide whether to make a £1,000 contribution towards setting up a giant TV screen in Beaufort Square.

Fans gathered at the Caldicot Castle for Wales’s historic win over Slovakia in the country’s first appearance at a football final for decades and they will be hoping for a repeat performance against the Russians.

The castle fanzone will be open from 8pm until 10pm on Monday with pre-match live music and activities for the kids. Under-13s will be admitted free-of-charge.

First there is just the small matter of the game against England this afternoon. (Thursday)
