FOREST area campaigner and former councillor Alastair Fraser is to run for UKIP for the Sedbury seat in next May's Forest District Council elections.

The move may put him up against former Tory colleagues and sometime adversaries – particularly after his last council spell ended in a poll defeat.

Mr Fraser, who lives at Alvington, recently announced his move to UKIP and said he wanted to fight for "a fair deal" for local people, including another look at the parking issue.
