AFTER reading for the umpteenth time in the Littlejohn column in the Daily Mail how this country's open borders, welfare system and hospitality is being cynically abused by yet another illegal immigrant and single woman each having children courtesy of the National Health with no visible means of supporting either themselves or their offspring, I felt compelled to write to Mark Harper my Member of Parliament whom I have hitherto supported. I do so through your paper.

Dear Mark:

I would refer you to Richard Littlejohn's article in today's Daily Mail, headed 'Happy Families?' No, another miscarriage of 'Justice'. If only half the facts set out are correct it would seem to me that Mr. Cameron can no longer dither around and should get on with carrying out the Conservative pledge to get out of the Human Rights Act and I don't mean tinker on the edges, fudging and pretending that he has a grip on matters!

Furthermore, please don't bring on the usual mantra "We are part of a coalition". That's too easy and lazy. As the 'strongest' winner after the election the Conservatives were in pole position and should have held firm to their core promises to their electors – it was no surprise to anyone that the Liberals took a drumming over university fees, they always um and ahh and sit on the fence and snipe. They have got power and influence on the coat tails of the Conservatives and do not seem to appreciate how those two attributes should be fostered.

I am finding it harder and harder to keep giving the Conservatives the benefit of the doubt and I certainly can't grasp where Mr Cameron is leading the party and the country. I dislike seeing this country's sense of fair-play, generosity and hospitality walked over by all sundry such as the young woman in the article. It really is time Mr. Cameron and the party got a grip on matters such as E.U, Human Rights, Education, Health and Welfare – in that order.

Yours more in sorrow than happiness
