As spring gets under way, a local society is appealing for new members keen on trying their hand at flower cultivation.

Forest of Dean Chrysanthemum Society spokesperson Bruce Reed said; “A new year of growing is now here and the cuttings have been taken in preparation for the coming season.

“We are a friendly group and we’re ready to help anyone who would like to try their hand at growing our special blooms, either as a hobby, or to enter at local shows

“Free cuttings are available to members, and advice is given throughout the growing season.”
