GHOSTS, ghouls, apparitions, crop circles, UFOs and even big cats are all part of a day's work for the Forest's first paranormal investigation team, dubbed the FPI.
Forest Paranormal Investigations has already clocked up a number of trial investigations, but has just gone public with a formal website, Youtube and Facebook pages.
FPI says it is "Intent on pursuit of the truth of all things unexplained. FPI has arrived and is here to shake up the paranormal world. When we investigate, we leave no stone unturned, we are dynamic and professional."
The team of four are all local and include Adam Heath, a website designer, film editor and hypnotist; Paula Meek, writer of the Quest for a Vampire trilogy; Tim Gunter, better known as Maximus-T DJ and founder of Whitelabelradio.co.uk and researcher Vicki Thornton of the 'Switched on' Community Interest Company.
Speaking to the Review Paula Meek said: "We've already done a number of investigations, including at the Angel in Coleford, where something or someone is said to try to get into bed with the guests. We've also been to the Feathers in Coleford, and had a night long vigil at St Briavels Castle, which is said to be one of the most haunted castles in the country. We've even been called out to a popular pub on the River Wye where a guest woke in the middle of the night and saw an apparition in the window. He woke his wife and they booked out of the hotel straight away.
"There's a long list of places we need to investigate, including a mine shaft where there's said to have been some paranormal activity, and we're compiling a list of the most haunted places in the Forest. It already looks as though this is going to be a full time job because there's just so much to do."
FPI's website is forestparanormal.co.uk
