LYDNEY gold parathlete medallist Andy Lewis has sponsored a new Forest football team.

Jason Bevan, who started the Ellwood under-sevens team, appealed on Facebook for somebody to help them buy the players a training jacket suitable to wear in all sorts of weather.

In return the sponsor gets his name on the kit for two years.

Jason said: “Andy said he would like to sponsor the team personally through his marketing company. Recently he visited them during one of their training sessions at Lydney Leisure Centre and chatted to them – and even had a kick about which they loved. 

“We can’t thank Andy enough. We are so grateful for sponsors who came forward to help sponsor one of our team’s football kits or training jackets, as their help really means a lot to us and the children.”
