THE target is a cool £10 grand!

That's the aim of champion fund-raiser Jenny Roberts and well known Forest of Dean businessman Keith Bell as they link up for the annual Dave Roberts Memorial Charity Golf Day in aid of Great Oaks Hospice.

There are places for up to 36 teams of four. They will tee-off at Coleford's Forest Hills course on April 20 for a day which has become a firm favourite with golfers from all over the Forest and the county.

Since its inception nine years ago, the golf day has raised thousands for local charities.

However, Jenny is hoping this year's event will be a record breaker as all the money raised will be for Great Oaks in this the hospice's 10th anniversary year.

"Our previous best was £9,000. However Keith has said he would like to go for 'the best yet' . The target I'm setting is £10,000 and what an achievement that would be given the present difficulties," said Jenny.

The day – which costs £35 a person and £26 for Forest Hills members – includes coffee on arrival, a two course dinner and evening entertainment.
