MODERN day British politicians – are they just dim and thick-skinned or deliberately arrogant and offensive?
First we have the Prime Minister's pathetic attempt to excuse his Bullingdon club behaviour by stating that all young people do stupid things. Was he unaware that at the age of his misdemeanours some of us were rather too busy with the problems of '39- '45 to do stupid things?
Next we have the Energy Secretary stating that people were too lazy to switch energy suppliers. Just a couple of days later he let it be known – at his party conference – that he was considering measures to make it easier to switch suppliers. Obviously someone tipped him off that he was appearing a dumbo.
In his carefree world he is probably unaware that some of the elderly stay in bed to keep warm and that it can be a choice between spending money on food or fuel.
It became only too obvious that the previous Prime Minister (old bellow and bluster Brown) was out of touch with the real world, in fact the last person who went to parliament for the good of his country was Guy Fawkes.
