WHAT is happening to my country? It seems that, according to the press, we are governed by thieves and tricksters, with very few exceptions. Frank Field springs to mind.
He who should have been appointed as Speaker. But no, they appointed someone whose actions have been under the attention of the authorities.
Will they ever understand in how much contempt they are held?
With few exceptions I would rather trust a backstreet car dealer than most MPs.
I see that some workers are volunteering to work for nothing to help their firms. What an example to the bankers who got us into this mess. How much are they giving up?
And what are the MPs giving up?
It seems to me that the richer you are the greedier you are .
Example, Phillip Green (I would rather cut off my tongue than call him by his title). He robs the country of thousands pounds which he gets from this country by not paying his tax bills.
One year he paid himself £1.2 billion, on which he paid no tax: he had to borrow thousands of pounds from the banks to pay himself that, and he then claimed tax relief on the debts owing to the banks.
Then we get our Prime Minister saying that the inquiry into the Iraq war must be held in secret. What an obnoxious thought.
Does he think we are all imbeciles? Yes he does.
It is a true saying "you get the Government you deserve."
We have always been too lethargic about politics, but I am hoping that with all the expenses scandal that the public will now open their eyes, and their mouths. We have let them get away with it too long.
Comes the revolution.!
Just a thought – in the hymn we all sang "All Things Bright and Beautiful"
One verse says "the rich man in his castle, the poor man at his gate, he made them high and lowly, he ordered their estate." So it's God's will that this is happening!
I could go on ad-infinitum, if anyone is interested. – George Sankey, Chepstow.
