TIDENHAM Parish Council would like to update all readers of the current position relating to maintenance of grass areas owned and maintained by Two Rivers Housing Association within Sedbury.
A meeting of parish council was held on August 12 attended by two members of the Two Rivers Housing Association management team together with a number of parishioners. This meeting gave the opportunity for both councillors and parishioners to ask questions of the Two Rivers team.
It became apparent during the meeting that the maps issued by Two Rivers, and on which maintenance costs have been based, contained some discrepancies and this will have implications on charges to both tenants and freehold owners. Following the meeting Two Rivers Housing agreed to withhold all further invoices, reminders and legal action until this matter has been settled. Council understands that revised invoices will then be issued in due course.
Two Rivers has also agreed to hold a meeting with the parish council in early September to investigate further how best the grass areas can be maintained in the future bearing in mind that maintenance costs do have to be incurred to ensure the area is both attractive and safe for everyone.
The parish council is grateful to Two Rivers for their agreement to discuss the matter in more detail and will keep parishioners informed as and when appropriate. Please look for update notices on the parish notice boards and various other locations within Sedbury and Tidenham Parish generally following the meeting in September. – Jan Cordon, Clerk to the Council.
