HAVING not heard from Two Rivers Housing (TRH) for 13 months we assumed that they had decided to duck out, but now seem to have run out of money again and are chasing for what they claim to be grass cutting. This charge has gone from grass cutting in 2009, to estate maintenance, and now in 2010, has reverted back to grass cutting.
I noticed on the bill that the invoice is VAT exempt, but Vat has been charged, though worked out incorrectly as the total charge given is £4036.23 and the VAT charged is £630.66 (the VAT of 4036.23 should be £605.43?) Also despite the bill for our area in Mile End now being split between 172 properties, as opposed to the 167 last year, the bill has increased £3.30 per property per year.
I wish to point out that on this years bill, the amount charged is solely for grass cutting, with separate columns showing a zero charge for both hedge trimming and weed killing, presumably, once TRH have bullied people into paying for the grass cutting, the latter charges will be introduced.
Finally I have requested copies of the tenders submitted by the various contractors wishing to be considered for this contract as feel that should the private home owners be forced to pay this, then we have a right under the freedom of information act to view these details, and not be forced to accept the first or just any quote that TRH wish us to believe is the best one.
I have again written to TRH and look forwards to their reply, it often makes for interesting reading. – Name and address supplied.
