FUND-raisers hoping to send little Hannah Antonio to swim with dolphins are tantalisingly near to their target but still need around £3,000 to make the dream come true.
Hannah, a happy four-year-old who lives with her brother Joshua, aged one, and parents at Bullo Pill, has cerebral palsy and cannot walk or talk, although she is trying very hard to do both.
The organisers of Hannah's Dolphin Fund want to send the whole family to Florida so that Hannah can attend the Dolphin Human Therapy Treatment Centre, where an intensive programme and meetings with flippered friends might be just the kick-start she needs.
Fund secretary Sylvia Hornibrook, of Elton, said: "We have been collecting for nearly a year and have been very encouraged by the response we have received so far.
"We are now finding it harder to raise the rest of the money, which will be needed by August this year when the trip is booked."
Several events have been organised to help raise the rest of the cost including an auction on May 22 and later a barn dance and a sponsored walk.
Anybody who wishes to make a contribution can send a cheque made out to Hannah's Dolphin Fund to Mrs M. Brewster, 21 Ironstone Crescent, Maypole Estate, Bream.
For details of the other events call Mrs Hornibrook on 01452 760319.
