A RESIDENT at a Forest care home celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by friends and family.
Kathleen Paine has lived at the Euroclydon care home in Drybrook for about three years.
Previously she lived at the home in Much Birch near Hereford that she moved into before the Second World War.
Mrs Paine was born into a farming family in Caerleon near Newport and moved to Herefordshire after marrying husband Arthur.
She was the youngest of eight children and has a daughter, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her daughter Glenys said: "The countryside has always been her passion and she still has an active mind and has some wonderful memories."
